SAT Error Log Template: Blank PDF, Spreadsheet and Example

Download a blank mistake-review worksheet and spreadsheet-compatible CSV. Turn each mistake into a corrected method and a fresh check.

Reviewed

The short answer

An error log is useful when it records why an answer failed and what will change next. Use the blank PDF or spreadsheet template to name the skill, identify the cause, explain the corrected method, and schedule a fresh question. Retrying the exact same question checks recall; a different problem checks transfer.

One illustrative entry

Invented study example: A student selects a comma before however between two complete clauses. The cause is treating every transition as a conjunction. The correction is to test both clauses, then use a semicolon before however and the existing comma after it. A fresh check changes the transition to therefore. No names or claimed customer results appear in the sample.

Review causes rather than collecting rows

At the end of the week, group repeated causes. Choose one skill method and one reading or setup check. Reattempt an older mistake without notes, then try a fresh example. Do not turn the number of logged rows into an SAT-score estimate. Keep local copies private; a CSV is a portable file you control.
