What it is

SAT mistake review connects a wrong answer to the reasoning that needs another try. PeakSAT brings missed and saved questions into a review workspace with retries, explanations, error labels and notes. Mark what you misread, forgot or rushed, then use the due list to return to unfinished review. Question annotations can also appear in your searchable notebook. After an eligible submitted attempt, the Google AI tutor can explain choices and create a checked related drill. Marking a question mastered changes its review status; it does not prove mastery of every question in that skill.

How it helps

  • Keep mistakes available

Bring missed questions and bookmarks into one workspace instead of relying on memory after a test.

  • Record a useful reason

Add an error label and a note about what went wrong, such as a misread prompt or a concept you need to revisit.

  • Separate finished and unfinished review

Use retry and mastered status to control what remains due, then check the reasoning on another problem.

How it works

The steps you take in the PeakSAT app, in order.

  1. Step 1

    Choose a question to revisit

Open a missed or saved question in the review workspace and retry it before relying on the explanation.

  2. Step 2

    Explain the mistake to yourself

Compare your reasoning with the solution, choose an error label and save a short note about the correction.

  3. Step 3

    Decide what needs another try

Keep the question in review or mark it mastered, and use focused practice or a related drill to test the correction.

Illustrative workflow: diagnosing a sign error

This example describes review actions. It is not a real learner's mistake record or a claim of improved performance.

  1. Step 1

Retry a missed algebra question and compare each line of your work with the solution.

  2. Step 2

Save a note identifying the step where you changed the sign incorrectly, and choose the matching error label.

  3. Step 3

Keep it in review until you can explain that step, then try a different question on the same skill.

Who it’s for

Useful after submitting questions or a test, especially when repeated errors need a written diagnosis and another attempt.

Limits and access

The full review workspace is included with paid access or an eligible trial. The free assessment includes its own missed-question review. Saved, unsubmitted test questions do not unlock full explanations, and a review status is not a guaranteed skill result.

Common questions

Can I review a bookmarked question I have not answered?

You can keep the prompt in your saved list. Full solution access still requires an eligible submitted attempt; bookmarking an active test question does not reveal its answer.

What happens when I mark a question mastered?

It leaves the due review list. That is your review status for the question, not proof that you will answer every future question on the skill correctly.

Can I practice a different question on the same mistake?

Yes. Choose the skill in custom practice, or request a fresh related drill from the question's AI tutor after an eligible attempt. AI-generated related drills must pass a correctness review before being offered.
