PeakSAT vs Khan Academy: Which SAT Prep Fits Your Next Task?

Compare PeakSAT’s assessment-led practice with Khan Academy’s free Official Digital SAT Prep and understand where Bluebook fits.

The short answer

Khan Academy provides free Official Digital SAT Prep. PeakSAT is an independent platform offering SAT-style assessments, topic proficiency and targeted practice, with one free assessment and paid full access. Official adaptive full-length practice tests are in Bluebook. Choose based on the task you need to complete, and use official practice to check your familiarity with the actual test.

Start with the task, not a winner

If you need free lessons and skill practice, Khan Academy's Official Digital SAT Prep is a practical starting point. If you want to try PeakSAT's assessment-led topic analysis, you can take one free SAT-style assessment after Google sign-in. You do not need to buy a subscription to make that first comparison.

This page is published by PeakSAT, which sells SAT prep software. It describes our current offer and Khan Academy's first-party description as checked October 7, 2026. We have not run a controlled comparison of student outcomes, and this page does not claim one platform produces better scores.

What PeakSAT adds to the workflow

PeakSAT's current question inventory includes more than 5,800 available checked questions, 29 topics and 20 SAT-style assessments. An assessment helps identify weaker topics; practice recommendations change as you answer questions. Explanations and missed-question review help turn those results into a next task.

A topic-impact estimate is a planning signal, not an exact prediction of how many points one topic will cost on the official exam. The test interface, question set and score model belong to PeakSAT. Use official Bluebook tests to rehearse the official experience.

What to know about the paid trial

Full-access plans are recurring. An eligible first-time purchaser can start a seven-day trial with a payment method. Unless canceled before the trial ends, the selected plan begins charging at its recurring amount. This is separate from the one-assessment free tier, which requires no card.

Before starting a paid plan, use the free assessment and examine whether the resulting topic feedback helps you choose a concrete next practice action. If a free official lesson already answers your current question, you can use that lesson before making a purchasing decision.

A sensible way to combine resources

Take a fresh official Bluebook practice test to establish a comparable baseline. Review your errors and identify one or two skills. Learn those skills through appropriate lessons, practice new questions, and explain the corrected reasoning. Use a fresh official test later to check transfer.

If you also use PeakSAT, keep its practice estimates separate in your notes. Mixing providers' scores into a single trend without recording the source can hide changes in test conditions or scoring rather than reveal learning. The useful question is whether you can solve fresh problems independently, not which dashboard has the most encouraging number.
