Compare the named tier. A recorded class, email response, AI explanation and live teacher appointment provide different kinds of support.

Compare a realistic study-period cost

At the listed monthly rates, three monthly billing periods total $147 for Magoosh Premium or $447 for the Classes tier. These examples exclude discounts and are not quotes for Magoosh’s annual offer. Check its current annual price before extrapolating monthly payments over a year.

PrepScholar’s $397 or $495 listing covers 12-month access. That longer window may fit several test dates, but unused months add little practical value. Compare the total due, available features and access window you will actually use. Do not treat an installment or monthly equivalent as a cancel-anytime subscription.

Choose by the lesson and follow-up task

Inspect Magoosh if you prefer video explanations and a self-paced schedule, with optional recorded classes and email help. Inspect PrepScholar if you want a diagnostic-driven course with customized weekly preparation. Neither description proves a better outcome for every student.

For either option, choose a skill you find difficult. Pause an explanation before the final step, finish the reasoning and solve a fresh question. Check whether the next assignment addresses the error. An AI answer you can verify is more useful than one you merely agree with.

Read trial conditions separately from refunds

Magoosh advertises a limited seven-day free trial for some videos and practice questions. Its seven-day post-purchase refund policy is separate, and its FAQ says paid monthly and annual plans auto-renew.

PrepScholar advertises a five-day trial. Its current FAQ says that window starts with the diagnostic, capped at seven days after payment information is submitted; a pending card charge is collected if you continue. Follow the exact cancellation instructions and terms for your selected product. This guide did not create an account or test either paid trial.

PeakSAT as another option

PeakSAT connects SAT practice, Google AI help, saved daily tasks and mistake review. Try its free practice library and worked examples, then check current app pricing and trial terms if that routine suits you. Keep fresh official Bluebook practice in the plan whichever paid product you choose.
